On April 7, 2026, a delegation from the West Kazakhstan Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Vavilov University. The delegation included representatives of the Akimat and heads of the largest energy and water management enterprises in the region.
The program of the visit began with a visit to the Memorial Cabinet-Museum of Academician N.I. Vavilov. The guests got acquainted with the history of the university, life and scientific legacy of the great scientist. Miras Mulkai, Deputy Akim of the West Kazakhstan region, and Yahiya Chudrov, Advisor to the akim, left memorable entries in the book of honoured guests.
The delegation then toured the university's exhibition space, where they were presented with current scientific developments by scientists and researchers at Vavilov University.
Opening the meeting, Rector Dmitry Solovyov stressed the importance of cross-border cooperation in engineering training, scientific support and project activities. Advisor to the Akim Yakhia Chudrov noted the high potential of cooperation with the university in the areas of modernization of municipal infrastructure, rational water use and energy supply.
The scientists of Vavilov University presented specific areas of possible partnership: hydrotechnical land imrovement and water management, electrical engineering and power grid complex, thermal power engineering.
Vavilov University confirms its status as a reliable partner for interregional and international scientific and educational cooperation.
