On June 5, 2026, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language and Pushkin Day of Russia took place in the reading room of the Central City Library (Lipki Garden).
The participants of the literary lounge were students of the Center for Pre-University Training, Academic Mobility and Grant Activities of the Institute of International Relations of Vavilov University from African countries, including Sudan and Morocco.
The program of the meeting considered the creative path of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The foreign audience got acquainted with the key milestones of the biography of the great Russian poet and read poems thematically corresponding to each of the periods of his work.
The literary lounge culminated in a theatrical production based on The Tale of Tsar Saltan. The students enthusiastically presented the skit "If I were a queen ...", demonstrating their artistic abilities and deep understanding of the literary text.
According to the organizers, the main purpose of the event was to promote Russian culture and literature among foreign youth. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of unity, friendship and joint creativity, allowing the participants to immerse themselves deeper into the richness of the Russian literature.
Anna Shadrina, Director of the Institute of International Relations, commenting on the event, stressed the importance of such initiatives:
"Holding events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language and Pushkin Day of Russia is our important mission, meeting the priorities of state policy. The greatness of our culture lies in its ability to unite people from all over the world. For international students, immersion in the world of Pushkin is a touch of a Russian soul. Our task is to give them the key to understanding our history through the Russian language, discovering Russia through its greatest cultural heritage."
